Printable guides, in English and Urdu
The advice that matters most is the advice that is followed at home, by the person who was not in the clinic room. These one page guides are written to be printed, pinned to a wall, or forwarded to the family group.
Five guides, two languages
Before your first leg: bandaging and positioning
What to do in the weeks between surgery and the first cast. Joints straight, bandage or shrinker, daily exercises.
What to bring to your free assessment
A checklist of papers and items, what to send on WhatsApp first, what is checked, and what you leave with.
The evening skin check
The ten minute routine that prevents most lost weeks, with a second checklist for diabetic users.
Your first month at home with the leg
Week by week wearing times, the daily checklist, advice for the family, and what to do if the fit changes.
Questions to ask any clinic before you pay
Fifteen questions about people, parts, price and aftercare, and five warning signs.
Share them freely
Each guide is a single A4 page, written and reviewed by the clinic's prosthetist. You are welcome to print them, photocopy them and send them on to anyone they may help, unchanged. They give general guidance and do not replace advice from your own doctor or prosthetist.
If a relative reads Urdu more comfortably than English, send the Urdu version. The content is the same.
