Privacy policy
People send us photographs of their bodies and details of their health. We treat that with the seriousness it deserves. This page sets out what we collect, why, and what we will never do with it.
What we collect
When you contact us by phone or WhatsApp: your name, number, and whatever you choose to tell us about the patient, including photographs, videos and medical papers.
When you become a patient: clinical notes, measurements, casts or scans, photographs and videos of fitting and walking, the parts fitted, and payment records.
When you use this website: the forms on this site do not store anything. They open WhatsApp on your own device with a message you can read before sending. Our hosting provider records standard technical information such as IP address and browser type for security and performance. We may use privacy respecting measurement of page visits to improve the site.
How we use it
To assess, advise, make and maintain an artificial leg for you. To contact you about appointments and follow up. To keep the records a responsible clinical service must keep. For nothing else.
Photographs and videos
Photographs and videos of a stump, a fitting or a patient walking are used only for that patient's assessment and care. They are never published, used in advertising, or shown to other patients without the explicit, written permission of the patient, which may be refused or withdrawn at any time without affecting care.
Family members and sponsors abroad
When a relative is arranging or paying for a leg, we share findings, quotations, receipts and progress videos with that relative only with the patient's consent.
Who else sees it
We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. We share it only with your own doctor or physiotherapist at your request, with a parts supplier where a custom item must be ordered, in which case only measurements are sent, or where the law requires it.
Third party services
Messages sent by WhatsApp are handled under WhatsApp's own terms. The map on our contact pages is provided by Google Maps and the typefaces by Google Fonts, and those services may receive your IP address when the page loads. The site is delivered through a content delivery network.
Keeping and deleting
Clinical records are kept for as long as you are our patient and for a reasonable period afterwards, since a future socket often depends on past records. Enquiries that do not lead to treatment are deleted periodically. You may ask to see, correct or delete what we hold about you, and we will do so unless a record must be kept by law.
Children
Information about a child is collected only from, and shared only with, the parent or guardian.
